“ Ugo gbuzue, ochakee” (Literally, when the eagle matures, it shines forth), so says the Igbo adage.
The eagle is a symbol of so many things that are noble – purity, dignity, integrity, strength, power, intelligence, wisdom and peace.
The eagle also signifies victory, freedom from bondage, inspiration, and royalty.
Generally depicted as the king of birds, the eagle is also associated with intellectual and mental acuity, focus and will power.
These attributes are a perfect depiction of the person and character of Nze Akachukwu Sullivan Nwankpo, the Nnewi-born political stalwart, thinker, innovator, development strategist and expert in Arbitration and Conflict Resolution.
By no means a new name in Nigerian and Anambra State politics, Nze Akachukwu Sullivan Nwankpo has over 30 years’ experience in Politics. He was a Governorship Aspirant in the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in 2013, Governorship aspirant in All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in 2021 and the Governorship Flag bearer of the African Democratic Congress for the Anambra 2021 election.
He is also a renowned name in Public Administration, Political branding, Industry and Community Conflict Management as well as in Citizens Mobilization and Sustainable Community Development spanning all levels of Governance in Nigeria from Town and Village Leadership, Faith-Based Organization, Local Government Council, State Government, Regional Government, International Multilateral/Multinational Organizations to the Presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
A man of high intellectual and mental acumen, Nze Akachukwu Sullivan Nwankpo had a higher education training in Philosophy at the Urban University, Rome. He studied Education and Public Administration at the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Cross-Sector Partnership at the Cambridge University, UK and Law at the Baze University, Abuja.
In Public Service, Nze Akachukwu Sullivan Nwankpo’s services spans a wide range of posts and positions at all levels of government. Some of his key successes in public office include power reform, Niger Delta and Oil and Gas Industry stabilization, Disarmament and Resettlement of Militants and SURE-P Social Safety net among others.
As a Political Brander, he was the brain child of the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Brand as a humble democrat and National Unifier, using the popular “Breathe of Fresh air” and “My ambition is not worth your blood” campaigns which made national waves.
He also manifested his expertise in Citizen Mobilization and Sustainable Community Development in several non-political sectors including:
• Initiated the strategy for GEJ Presidential intervention in the Almajiri system.
• Founded the Citizens Club to promote financial inclusion and productive living among Nigerian citizens.
• Founded the Catholic Empowerment Network to tackle poverty among Catholic faithful in Nnewi Diocese.
• Conceived the Ohaneze Foundation and the Ohaneze Centre for Effective Leadership.
• Maintains strategic
relationship with key Igbo Youth and Student Organizations involved in Igbo emancipation efforts at regional and national levels.
He also serves as Personal Envoy to former President Goodluck Jonathan since 2015 to date.
With this splendid array of antecedents and rare record of national initiatives and achievements, the eagle has indeed matured.
There is no gainsaying that Nze Akachukwu Sullivan Nwankpo has attained full maturity, in terms of knowledge and experience required and demanded by even the highest position of leadership in Nigeria.
